NeuroX New Jersey · 2027

Great minds think differently.

NeuroX brings neurodivergent people, employers and the State of New Jersey together around AI and work. In 2027 there are two events. First up is the NeuroX NJ Ideathon at Rutgers in January.

NeuroX New Jersey 2027

The conference on neurodiversity in the workplace and AI. Employers, government, researchers and neurodivergent people in one room.

About the conference
The Ideathon · January 2027

Find the problem. Own the path.

The NeuroX NJ Ideathon is two days at Rutgers University for neurodivergent students across New Jersey. You start from what you know: the problems you see in work, study and everyday life. You find where AI could genuinely help. Then you shape the idea at your own pace, with mentors alongside you. There's no pitch competition. Some projects carry on to the conference in April.

The standard every idea meets

Purpose over polish.

Every idea meets the same five standards. A slick pitch isn't one of them.

  • A real problem

It starts from lived experience. You can say who has the problem and how you know.

  • Accessible from the start

You've thought about who could be left out, and how to stop that happening. Anything you build follows the BRAINS standards.

  • Honest

It says what it does and what it doesn't, how you'd know it worked, and what the first step is. No miracle claims.

  • People stay in control

It collects as little data as possible, with consent, and it doesn't watch people.

  • Fair for every community

It works across New Jersey's communities, whatever people's income, language or zip code. It still works as things change.

  • The same standards as this site

This website and our event platform follow the BRAINS standard for code and the BRAINS A11Y accessibility standard. Try the "Display & reading" button at the top of the page.

Built with us

Neurodivergent people help design and run the day, as facilitators, mentors and reviewers.

Calm by design

A quiet room all day, long breaks, and questions in writing. Nobody is put on the spot.

Support first

No pitch competition and no investors judging. Every team is recognised, and some projects carry on to April.

At both events

You choose how people approach you.

Every badge can show one of four settings. Each one has a word, a colour and a shape, so it never relies on colour alone.

  • Happy to talk

    Come and say hello.

  • Quiet conversations

Glad to talk, one to one and somewhere calm. Please say who you are.

  • A wave is fine

A nod or a wave is welcome. Please do not start a conversation.

  • Please don't approach

Please leave me be. It is not personal.

We'll publish how we make each event comfortable, including quiet spaces and captions, with the dates. Our accessibility statement covers this website.

Be first to hear the dates.

Join the updates list. You'll get a handful of messages, not a newsletter: dates and venue, the programme, and when registration opens and closes.
